Long time no see!!

Yes, I have been gone for quite a few months but I am back!! And yes, I am changing to english again, damn you indecisive brain...

I am going to explain why but first I thought I woud give you guys a little life update. Because my oh my a lot has changed since I last blogged!!
First of all I dropped out of uni. I'm not going into this too deep but Communication wasn't what I had expected.

Since I'm not going to school I had to search for an actual job and if you know me, I am a bit too picky when it comes to getting a job and that doesn't help a lot when it's crisis! But lucky me found a great job! I'm working at a fashion store for 5 days a week now and I really like it . It's still work, but at least it's work I enjoy!
Also, it really helps that I know what I want to do with the money.
First, I am saving for a lovely summer holiday with my friends to Kos! I have been there before with my family but I really can't wait to go on a nice girls holiday!

The second thing brings me to the change of language.. I'm planning on moving to London after summer 2014. I want to study there but I don't think that's financially possible so I might go for a short term.

So that was basically everything that has changed! I'm going to try and blog more regular from now on!! And maybe I will do a little Christmas post about the Christmas decoration in our house! Stay tuned :)

New Harry Potter movies?

Okay, this is big news, like giant news! I assume you have already read it somewhere but for those who haven't: J.K. Rowling announced that she is going to write her first movie series. The story will start in New York, 70 years before our hero Harry was born. That means it won't exactly be a 'Harry Potter' movie but it will be familiar.

If you are not a Harry Potter fan: I respect you, but we won't become friends.
If you are: you're probably interested in what I am about to write down.

I have been a huge Harry Potter fan for years. My dad and I used to watch at least one of the movies every sunday because we loved it so much! I think I saw every part of the series at least 20 times and I am not exaggerating. Because of this, you might understand why I was over the moon when I got wristbands for the world premiere of the very last HP movie ever in London!

What? You've been to the world premiere? Yesss. Two years ago my parents and I went on a family trip to London and like every person who visits London for the first time, we went sightseeing. And where do you go besides London Eye and BigBen? Indeed, Trafalgar Square. When we arrived there it was madness. There were people camping out and there were construction climbers everywhere. We had no clue what was going on but as soon as we walked up to the crowd it became clear. It was the Harry Potter premiere and the moment I realised that, I walked up to one of the guys who were giving out wristbands and I kind of ripped three of them out of his hands, not on purpose, but I was over excited....

Sooo that was it, we had wristbands which gave us entrance to the premiere the next day. I was over the moon, I just couldn't believe it!! And it was one of the best days of my life. I have always had a weakness for celebrities and of course for Harry Potter so being able to see them in reallife was overwhelming. Beside the whole HP cast (aaaah) I saw super nanny, The Wanted, Darren Criss and many many more.

My highlight was my (almost) picture with James or Oliver Phelps, also known as Fred and George Weasley. I am a Harry Potter fan but I wouldn't call myself a potterhead so don't blame me for not knowing who is who. I was soooo close to getting a picture, I already handed my camera to a random boy next to me and I was bending towards Oliver (or James) and he was bending towards me to take the picture when............ the 'management' lady pulled him away and told him it was time to go... He did say sorry to me but I still don't understand why she wouldn't let him finish taking the picture... I do have pretty close pictures of them which you can see down below!

Well, that was my story so far. I hope you're as excited as I am for te new series and I hope you didn't fall asleep during my ramble, ciao! x

School essentials; what's in my bag?

Hii there! It's been a while since my last blogpost but that's only because I have been really busy the last couple of weeks! School started and since I am going to a new school in a whole new town it has been quite the change... Instead of my usual 5 minute trip to school,  I now have to travel over 2 hours to get there by bicycle, bus, train and foot. A-ma-zing! But it's worth it so I shouldn't complain.

Since I have to travel so much you might understand my bag is pretty packed! And because I love reading / watching 'what's in my bags' a lot, I thought I would give it a try! If you have read my previous blogpost you already know what my favourite bag is. For those who haven't, it's the CeCe bag in black and I got it from www.modemusthaves.com.

Let's start with my e-reader. I can't imagine not having something to read on the train and carrying books everyday is a little bit too heavy so this is the perfect solution! Mine is from Kobo but I think any brand will work.

Next, my deodorant from Vogue girl and my body mist spray from 'de Tuinen' which is a dutch brand. Personally I think every girl should have a deodorant in her bag but in the summer times a body mist can be very useful too. For the people who have never heard of it before: it's a water based perfume which you can spray all over your body ( I use it on my arms and in my neck) and it's really refreshing! They come in different aroma's but I love my bamboo mist the most!

Now my school supplies. I have the cutest little notebooks ever, I got them from Action, a dutch bargain shop for 1 euro each. I have a cute diary from Hema, a dutch warehouse and I have one pencil that I found somewhere in our house.

When it comes to food it varies from day to day. I am not a big fan of bread so it is muesli or rice bars most of the time. Drinks on the other hand aren't so vary. I don't like a lot of drinks so I stick to my favourite drink in the world; WATER. And when I am extremely thirsty I buy an ice cold Sprite at the train station because it's too delicious.

Last but not least, my four most essential things; my purse, my hairbrush, my headphones and my little make-up bag to fix my make-up throughout the day. My purse is from Primark, I really love the way it looks but the zipper never worked very well so it's not the best...
I don't remember where I got my hairbrush from but that's something I ALWAYS take with me because my hair is really straight so it gets fluffy very easily. I don't think my apple headphones need an explanation, do they?

And finally my little make up bag! Unfortunately I am not one of those girls whose makeup stays perfect all day so I need to touch up every now and then. For blackness under my eyes I use my colorstay concealer by Revlon. For shiny skin I use my Rimmel London Stay Matte powder and it works brilliant! I apply mine with a brush but you can use a pad if that's easier for you. My very last product is my Vaseline lipbalm with a red color in it. I love vasline lipbalms because they keep your lips moisturized and mine has a pretty gloss in it that gives a fresh look!

I'm sorry for the horrible quality, I took this picture with my phone because my camera is nowhere to be found..

August's favourites

Hiii there!
I know lots of bloggers post their monthly favourites on their blogs, mostly beauty favourites. I want to do something like this, but a little bit different.

I am going to post my favourites of this month, but on different subjects (books, music, etc.)
Some of these things are probably really old because this is the first time I do something like this, but they are my favourites at the moment so it does count as an august favourite, right?

Let's get startedddd!

Favourite:

Beauty products.
This one is easy for me! My Real Techniques expert face brush which I absolutely adore and my all time favourite Yves Saint Laurent foundation. I have been searching for the right foundation for years because just a very few foundations match my skin and this one fits mine brilliant!
I used  to use a flat brush to apply and blend my foundation but it always left horrible stripes on my face, happy times. If you are familiar with this I can assure  you the Real Technique brush solves the problem, thank the gods! (Or Samantha Chapman..)

Fashion items.
My CeCe bag!!!! It's a look a like of the CelinĂ© Paris bag, if you don't know what that is, get your ass of my blog! But unlike most copies the quality is really good and you can not only feel it, you can see it. My friends got it for me for my last birthday and I was over the moon because I wanted it for soo long! They got it from modemusthaves.com which is one of my favourite online shopping sites. It's a dutch site but they ship worldwide so you should check it out!

Songs.
Does a full album count as a song? From now on it does. Usually my favourite song is the song I fall asleep to everynight, but lately I fall asleep to whole albums. (sleep problems)
The first album is Ed Sheeran's + (plus). I love his voice soooooo much! I don't think there is any album I have listened to as many times as I have listened to this one.. All time favourite.
Second one is Passenger's All The Little Lights. And again, brilliant voice. I love the accent and his songs are so extremely cute and cute, and did I allready point out they are cute?

Books.
The 'I Heart.. ' series by Lindsey Kelk. This summer I was really bored and decided I wanted to read a book. I went for I Heart Paris because I had read it years ago and I really liked it. After I had finished reading ( for the second time) I realised that it was part of a series of books and that I started with the 3rd one....  I asked my dad to download the other ones for our E-reader and he did. And I read them all in a couple of weeks. And so should you.

TV Series
GAME OF THRONES. Watched all three seasons two times this summer and that is all I need to say, isn't it?

Mobile Apps (iPhone)
As much as I cherish my lovely apps like instagram, tumblr, we heart it, twitter, etc. I have to go for the Quit Buddy app. It is an app that helps you to quit smoking, and it works. I used to smoke an afwull lot and I did everything to stop but somehow I always gave up after a week, but not this time!!
The app keeps track of the amount of money you have saved, how many sigarets you did not smoke and how long ago you've had your last sigaret. It also keeps you informed about your health progress..

Before this list becomes endless and you drop off, I am going to call it a blog! ( Ha Ha)

Byeee! x

London baby!

A couple of days ago I came back from a family trip to London. It was my 3rd time and I loved it as much as the first time, maybe a little bit more.. I don't know what it is but I am a bit obsessed with that city... It's the best place to shop, whatever your budget is, and there is so much sightseeing to do! I also love the people because they are so polite! People usually say that english people are a bit surly but I don't agree at all. Here in Holland when you bump into someone by accident you just wisper sorry without even looking at that person but in London, even on the tube, they take the time to give a proper apology.

I want to talk about a few of my favourite places which I think you should defenitely visit if  you are in London. Let's start with Camden Town / Camden Market. If you are a bit into the alternative scene and you like to stand out this is the place to be. You see all kinds of styles come together; punkers, emo's, skaters, lolita's and even burlesque. You can find the Camden Stables Market there, which is my favourite place of London. There are lots of little shops where you can buy pretty much everything you can think of, for quite a good price if you bargain the right way. You can find food stalls with food from all over the world, and I find most of it absolutely delicious.

The next place I am going to talk about is Notting Hill. I think everyone knows Notting Hill from the film but it's actually really nice to walk around for half a day or something. You can enjoy the sight of cute houses in every colour you can think of while you can do a little bit of shopping in the vintage shops.

Last but not least, the best places to shop! I am not an extremely rich person so my main interests when it comes to shops are (or comparable with) Primark, New Look and Forever 21. I think the best place to go is the huge Westfield shopping centre. Not Oxford street? No. I do love Oxford street but it's so crowded and I personally hate crowds when it comes to shopping. Especially Primark in Oxford street, I don't think anyone ever walked out without being sweaty, thirsty and having make-up smudged all over their face.. Not my ideal shopping experience to be honest.  I did really enjoy the Westfield shopping centre. It's quite large, not just because of the amount of shops but because everything is massive ( walls, floor, stairs) it doesn't feel so crowded and chaotic. It's also quite easy to reach. You can take the train from Liverpoolstation to Stratford and you'll literally arrive next to the shopping centre.

If there's anything else you want to know about my shopping trip to London, feel free to ask!

Introducing myself

Hii there!

My name is Jessica Jansen and as you've  probably  seen by the title of  this blogpost, I'm going to introduce myself to you!
First of all I want to apologize for the grammar and spelling mistakes I am going to make, or maybe already made! I am from the Netherlands or, as a lot of people like to call it, Holland, so I am not used to write or talk english. The only experience I have are the english classes I had in secondary school.

I have always wanted to start a blog because I absolutely love writing! I don't know exactly what used to stop me from making one, but here it is!! I am a 17 year old girl and I graduated from secondary school a few months ago. In a couple of weeks I'm starting university to study iMotion of Communications. I am super excited and I can't wait to get started!

Apart from surfing the internet for hours and sleeping I like to go out clubbing with friends and I loooove to shop! I am the worst when it comes to saving money, I just don't see the point of keeping it in my purse if I can spent it on beautiful make-up and clothes...  I love to read, especially british chickflicks and uhm yeah, just british chickflicks. I eat everything I see and I can be lazy for weeks.. On the other hand I love to go out all the time and to be so busy that I don't have time to think about anything other than what I am doing at that moment...

I follow a lot of bloggers and vloggers on the internet and I am the biggest fan of social media, the amount of people you can reach out to is insane and I really like the whole concept. That's why I am so excited to start uni.

I don't exactly know what kind of posts  you can expect from me to come but I am open for all suggestions!! If there's anything you want to know about me, please ask me! I would love to answer some questions. If you have any comments, good or bad, please tell me, I would love to know :)

Well, this was it for my first blogpost ever!
Bye x

Oh and this is me for the ones who are interested...
